Drawing upon his experiences as a young drug dealer on the streets of Atlanta, acclaimed hip-hop artist T.I. makes his debut with a powerful, modern novel. Both 16, Power and Beauty are sexually drawn to each other, but must keep their attraction hidden, especially from their new guardian, Slim, a rich hustler who has his own plans for them. As Slim takes Power under his wing and introduces him to the dark side of Atlanta, he also tries to corrupt Beauty’s independence and innocence. Eventually driven apart, the teens’ lives take very different paths. Yet neither Power nor Beauty can forget their love, and one day, one of them will have to save the other in this dark, gritty story of sex, violence, hustling and redemption.

I got the book thinking it was an auto biography of his life but was surprised to see that it wasnt! The book was pretty good I can't to much criticize him because this was his first book. The only thing that got me was the ending...but I will read part 2..,WELL DONE T.I. I. Am not a big fan of rap but you have become one of my favorite authors!!!!!!

THIS BOOK WAS INTERESTING THROUGH THE POWER PART. THE BEAUTY SECTION WAS FELT RUSHED AND INCOMPLETE. I WAS A KIND OF DISAPPOINTED AT THE ENDING, BUT I WAS LEFT WONDERING WHAT WILL HAPPEN AND WILL MOST LIKELY READ THE SEQUEL. OVERALL, IT WAS OK, BUT THE STORYLINE AND DIRECTION COULD HAVE BEEN MORE STRUCTURED.

I liked that the book was not you average hood book (violence, sex, and drugs) but it was just ok. Some parts had me wanting to read more but at some points I had to force myself to continue reading. I was interested to see what T.I. would come up with and I give him a thumbs up for trying but the ending was sucky. I understand series and leaving the reader in suspence so I'm hoping the next book is already in the works.
